About the company

Patersons originally began operating in Otago in 1900.  The original name, N & ES Paterson, came from the two founders – Nathanial and Edward Paterson.  Throughout its history it has operated successfully in Real Estate, land surveying, land brokerage, aerial photography, land subdivision and property valuation.
                       
  Since 1995 the property valuation division has been independently owned by the incumbent valuer Shane G. Waldron.  This broad experience  brings a deep and intricate understanding of property to your valuation.
We cover all types of property and a geographical region that stretches from Palmerston to Ranfurly, across to Tapanui, Lawrence and Clinton, and over to Owaka, in addition to Dunedin and surrounding townships. All property within this area will be valued.

About Shane

Shane G. Waldron – Registered Public Valuer

Shane is a highly qualified and well experienced valuer.  Supported by a multi-functional team, he provides a comprehensive range of valuations of residential, lifestyle, farming, commercial and industrial property, and also valuations for insurance purposes

Shane is a highly qualified and well experienced  valuer. He has 25 years’ experience in valuing all types of property, having completed more than 10,000 valuations.  He is a senior member of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers and the Property Institute of New Zealand.  He has been a Dunedin resident since 1986, having previously lived in Central Otago, and this local knowledge and experience are a real asset to clients.

Shane is a thoroughly reputable, trusted property professional with broad property expertise.  He has a reputation for accuracy, and believes in integrity and honesty.  He, and his team, strive to offer a quality service in combination with reliability and timeliness. 

Shane graduated from Lincoln College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Agricultural Commerce (Valuation and Farm Management).  He has also completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Otago University.  He brings a vast amount of experience to valuing the Otago property market, having previously undertaken land management and valuation work on large scale farming operations.  Additionally, he was an integral part of Rural Bank and Land Corporation refinancing and restructuring to transfer mortgages to the private sector, as well as being involved in large scale investment programmes for State Owned Enterprises (SOE’s) and the private sector.  He has also worked in direct Government funding to the rural community.  This experience has broadened and deepened Shane’s understanding and experience of the Otago property market.
